MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person was shot and killed early Tuesday in Parkway Village, police say.

Officers responded to the scene at 12:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Churchill Street. When they looked inside, they saw a man who had been shot to death.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Man I heard about four shots,” Jovon Jones said. “It was about 1:00 in the morning. Tires screeching off. It was right behind my house. It was crazy.”

At this time, no arrests have been made.

Shattered glass could be seen on the ground where the car came to a rest. One of the bullets also shattered a nearby home’s glass door. Michael Westman lives nearby and said he drove by the car shortly after it crashed but did not know how serious the situation was.

“I really don’t know what happened other than seeing the busted out window and figured it was a stolen car because I never heard a gunshot,” Westman said.
