MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man’s lifeless body was found shot to death, possibly dumped, on the side of the road in South Memphis.

MPD says the shooting happened on Webb Street near South Parkway Wednesday right before midnight. A male victim was found with gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

“I saw a man with his legs hanging off the curb. And his legs were in the street when I walked past him,” said the man who alerted the police.

The victim is believed to be 47 years old.

Detectives blocked off the road for several blocks as they worked to bring into focus exactly what happened and where.

Neighbors say it was evident how he died, but where the attack happened is part of the puzzle detectives are working to piece together.

“You just dumped a whole person on the street. I mean for whatever reason the situation happened, you placed another human being – no life – just next to the trash,” said a neighbor.

There is no suspect information at this time, police say. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 91-528-CASH.
