MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was found shot to death in Parkway Village early Wednesday.
Officers located the victim lying in the grass and shot multiple times outside the gates of the RDX Trucking School at 4590 American Way around 5 a.m.
The roadway was blocked off for several hours as police led an investigation in the area.
“It’s a senseless loss of life, and this is a high traffic area all times of day, as early as 7 a.m. so it is just odd that someone would be laying over there just dead,” Ronda Leaks said.
We saw Crime scene investigators looking at buildings that had surveillance cameras that may have captured the shooting.
Looking to leave no stone unturned and rerouting traffic during rush hour, impacting businesses in the American Way Plaza like Tranz Barbershop.
“This is a very busy street, and we depend on this a busy street for clientele, and so since the street is shut down it is definitely an impact,” said Thomas Randle, owner of Tranz Barbershop.
One business owner that hours after the shooting he was surprised to see the body still laying across the street.
“To be left out there like that for this amount of time, it is kind of heartbreaking,” Leakes said.
Leakes said she takes the road every morning and is saddened by all the killings happening in Memphis.
“It’s just like a murderous spirit over our nation and we have to pray that people will have respect for life. And if it is something going on to get help. Because you make a permanent decision on a temporary circumstance,
No arrests have been made in this shooting.
