MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Local pastors are saying enough is enough when it comes to the violence plaguing our city.

"We feel it's time that the church, the ministers, ministries to step up-- not only that we step up, we make a commitment to step out," said Bloomfield Full Gospel Baptist Church's Pastor Ralph White.

During a news conference Wednesday, the religious leaders started by urging the community to turn in the person(s) responsible for the death of 2-year-old Laylah Washington.

So far, the investigation into her death has turned up very little information, with police saying their best lead in the murder is surveillance video of the suspect's car as it turned onto Kirby Parkway from Winchester just before the fatal shots were fired.

Despite law enforcements' best efforts, the search continues for her killer(s).

During the press event, Pastor White stated someone knows who these men are and they urged those individuals to come forward, saying the suspects will eventually get caught, and hopefully not in a bad situation.

To the suspects themselves, they urged them to take action as well.

"All of these pastors who are here are willing to, they can call their churches...and to have them assist them in turning themselves in."

"So, we're serious about this -- a change has got to come."

That change includes coming together and getting out into the community.

The group, made up of several local church leaders, said they will be meeting next Tuesday at Bloomfield Full Gospel Baptist Church to actively plan their next course of action.

While they didn't know specifics about that plan yet, they said their churches need to be a constant presence in their communities and a safe haven for everyone.

"Through the word of God and men of God, we can bring about a solution."
