MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital were in for a treat Wednesday.
KISS lead guitarist Tommy Thayer introduced a new storybook app to the kids.
It’s called Ernest Hummingbird and tells the tale of a young hummingbird who just wants to sing. It features songs written by Thayer, along with Darius Rucker as the narrator.
Thayer says he just wanted to do something nice for the kids.
While at St. Jude, he stopped in at a “no mo’ chemo” party for a young girl who just finished her chemotherapy treatments.
Thayer downloaded the app on iPads for the kids at St. Jude for free.
If you’d like to download it for your child, it’s available for Apple and Android — just search for “Ernest Hummingbird.”
