(Memphis) The bodies of two men were discovered inside a house on East Yates, just off Walnut Grove Friday morning.

According to a witness, the men were shot multiple times by a man who broke into the home.

Police will not say if that witness was in the house with the victims.

Police identified the victims as 26-year-old Anthony Conte and 30-year-old Robert Schmidt.

Neighbors say the two young men, who were in their twenties, had been renting the house since January.

They say since then there had been a lot of people going in and out of the house.

“Very busy,” said one neighbor.

Neighbors are hoping this is an isolated event and say this isn’t the kind of crime they are used to seeing in this neighborhood.

“I not surprised. I’m really not, because it’s Memphis. I’ve lived here all my life and I’ve watched it go from OK to much worse,” said one woman.

So far, police have not released the name of the victims and don’t have any suspects.
