(WREG-TV) A Tennessee judge was fired after ordering a family to change their baby’s name.

Child support magistrate Lu Ann Ballew ordered the child’s name changed from Messiah to Martin last year.

The presiding judge over the district terminated her employment last Friday, saying she overstepped her bounds.

Ballew had told the family only one person has earned the title Messiah.

Another judge later reversed that decision.
