HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. — A man is behind bars in Helena-West Helena, accused of raping a 15-year-old girl and getting her pregnant.
Police starting investigating the case in April while serving a search warrant at a home, where they found the victim pregnant with her third child.
There was already an open investigation involving the victim from a previous rape allegation, police said.
Police said they used DNA to determine the father of the victim’s infant was 44-year-old William Maylone Watson, who was a suspect.
The victim’s mother knew Watson had visited the victim and her infant, police said.
Police arrested Watson Sunday. Rape of a minor charges are pending, police said.
