PITTSBURGH — The Grinch has struck again.
A single mom in Pittsburgh doesn’t know how she’ll give her son a merry Christmas after someone broke into her home and stole the presents she had gotten for her son, WPXI reported.
To add insult to injury, Tasha Wade said the crime happened when she was at her dialysis treatment.
She saw a smashed window when she got home.
“The first thing I worried about was my son’s stuff that I had just gotten him for Christmas.”
Wade was trying hard to make it a good Christmas for her son. Last year, she spent the holiday in the hospital, and she’s still struggling to get back on her feet.
“I’m trying to take steps to build myself up to the old Tasha that I was,” she said. “I still promised him he was going to have a good Christmas. I don’t know what to tell him.”
Wade said she doesn’t think she’ll be able to replace the video games and clothes because she isn’t working due to being on disability.
Police are investigating. Wade said she thinks the burglar knew her dialysis schedule.
