Former McNairy County correctional officer charged with official misconduct

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man is now experiencing the other side of a jail cell in the same place where he worked as a correctional officer.

Levis Scalf, 42, worked for the McNairy County Correctional Facility. According to the TBI, he allowed an inmate to assault another inmate there in September 2015.

Scalf was charged Monday with criminal responsibility, official misconduct and official oppression.

He turned himself in and was booked into the McNairy County Correction Facility. He has a $25,000 bond.
