(Memphis) A Memphis firefighter was injured early Tuesday morning putting out a fire that was intentionally set.

The fire started at around 1:30am at the Lakeview Apartments on Winchester in a vacant building.

Neighbors noticed the building was on fire and called for help.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire before it spread to another building, but one firefighter fell through a hole in the second floor.

Tenants say there have been multiple fires in the complex.

“Last year we had the same problems. Now, we are having it again. Somebody is just coming here and starting fires,” said Kevin Cumings.

Investigators say the fire was started in the kitchen area of a first floor apartment.

The firefighter who fell through the floor was treated at the hospital for a shoulder injury and later released.
