MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis fire crews responded to a second-alarm fire Tuesday evening n the 2500 block of Summer Avenue. The fire started just after 5:30 p.m. at the Transmission Clinic and Auto Repair. The fire sent a column of smoke billowing into the sky as drivers tried to get home. When crews arrived, flames could be seen from the one story auto shop, and it took over on hour to get the fire under control. It’s unclear what caused the fire. We do know the two buildings that were damaged did not have a worker sprinkler system. Several cars sustained smoke, fire and water damage. No injuries were reported.
