MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Firefighters were battling a fire for hours Saturday night.

The 2-alarm fire happened in the 1200 block of North Watkins Street.

It started at 6:30 p.m. and was still going as of 10:30 p.m.

The building is vacant, and there was no one inside when the fire started, Memphis Fire said.

Much of the roof has collapsed.

The firefighters worked defensively against the blaze.

Memphis Fire is working to determine the cause of the fire.
