MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Investigators say food left on a stove caused a fire in a high-rise apartment building Wednesday night.

The fire damaged one unit on the 12th floor of the Renaissance Apartments at 99 North Main Street.

No one was hurt.

One person said they were unable to use a fire escape door and had to go to a different floor to escape.
