BYHALIA,  Miss. - "I never would've thought however many days before Christmas that Jaylen would be without a mom and a dad ever"

Yukita Manuel says she's heartbroken after hearing her brother shot and killed her nephew's mother.

"I'm hurt that she's not here and that my brother will be facing what he will be facing and that my nephew will be facing possible life without a mom and a dad"

Yukita tells WREG her nephew's mother Shareca Fair came to pick up her son on Geneva Berry where her 54-year-old brother Bobby Adams lives.
She says Fair and Adams got into an argument and shortly after her brother shot Fair.

"It is a homicide and it's our first homicide of the year, unfortunately," said Chief Deputy with DeSoto County Sheriff's Office Macon Moore.

Manuel tells WREG right now both families need to focus on her nephew's future.

"I know her family is hurting I know they want closure, some may even want revenge even on both sides of the family but this is one time that we all need to stick together because there's one little person that's caught in all this and he is without both of his parents."
