MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Memphis mother claimed a Family Dollar employee assaulted her in front of her 2-year-old son and wants the worker to pay for his alleged actions.

The incident happened on Saturday at the store on Summer and Tillman.

"I was like crying. I was terrified. I thought we were honestly being carjacked or robbed," Heaven Ronacher said.

Ronacher's arm was in a sling on Monday after doctor's say she sprained her shoulder.

The person she said caused her injuries is a manager at Family Dollar in Binghampton.

"He was like 'you didn't pay for this and I was like yes. I did'," Ronacher explained.

The woman told WREG her alleged attacker thought she was stealing despite paying for her items and having her receipt.

According to the police report, the manager grabbed Ronacher's arm and yanked her door.

The altercation happened in front of Ronacher's child.

"I mean it's traumatizing," she said. "I mean I don't want to go anywhere. I don't want him to go anywhere."

The assistant manager said what that customer told police didn't happen.

He claimed he never touched her, and the whole thing caught on camera which will allegedly prove his side of the story.

While workers would not talk on camera, they told WREG the situation was a big mix up and that they have apologized.

However, store employees said Ronacher was never assaulted.

"If they want to look at the camera and they still want to cover for him, then I hope they can sleep really well tonight," Ronacher said.

The Memphis mother said she has secured a lawyer and hopes criminal charges are eventually filed.

"I hope he gets fired. I hope no one else has to face what I had to face," she said.

Management at the Binghampton Family Dollar said the store has had an ongoing problem with shoplifting.

They said an employee sent out the wrong signal as the victim was leaving out of the store.

It was later proven Heaven Ronacher was not stealing.
