MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The first Memphis ice rink by the Mississippi River is about to open.
The Fourth Bluff Ice Rink will open Saturday at 10 a.m.
The rink is at the corner of Riverside Drive and Jefferson Avenue.
Admission is $10 and includes skate rental.
Money for the rink came from a from a $5 million grant that was matched locally.
The idea of the grant is to use public spaces more in an effort to encourage members of the community to come together more often.
Food trucks and free WiFi will be offered at the temporary rink.
The rink will be open Sundays from noon – 6 p.m.; Tuesdays – Thursdays, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.; Fridays,
2 p.m. – 10 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. It will be closed on Mondays.
