Desoto County Sheriff searching for hit and run driver

DESOTO COUNTY, Miss. — The Desoto County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help identifying the driver who hit a pedestrian walking along Johnston Road in Hernando Monday evening.

According to a Facebook post, the pedestrian was walking down the street around 5:30 p.m. when a dark colored, full size pickup truck struck him.

A witness near the scene said the driver was speeding right before the accident.

Authorities didn’t release the victim’s condition, but said they need your help identifying the driver.
