DESOTO COUNTY, Miss. — Another scam is making the rounds in Desoto County, but this time, the scammers are impersonating law enforcement.

According to the Desoto County Sheriff’s Office, their department has received complaints from citizens saying they received calls about possible warrants and fines.

Each was told they would be arrested if the issue was not taken care of immediately.

The Desoto County Sheriff’s Office said they will not, and do not, make phone calls of this nature, and if you should receive one, they suggested you refrain from giving them any personal information.

They also wanted to remind everyone, if a person asks for money by way of a prepaid debit or credit card it is a scam.
