CORDOVA, Tenn. — Residents at a Cordova apartment complex are still coming to grips with a letter they received from the property’s management Thursday.
The letter states police are investigating a sexual assault that reportedly happened at Country Squire Apartments off Germantown Parkway.
“It makes me afraid to leave the house. I don’t want to leave my wife, and I’ve got two small kids. Both girls,” said tenant Joshua Alexander.
The letter is dated August 28, 2014.
It offers several tips on how residents can protect themselves, including locking doors and windows and reporting anything suspicious.
Alexander said he’s received other similar letters on his door before, including a notice about a break-in.
Memphis Police say the assault happened at about 11 a.m. Thursday, and the suspect is still on the loose.
WREG also reached out to a complex manager, who has yet to respond.
