WALTON COUNTY, Fl. — A little boy in Walton County, Florida made a heartwarming call to deputies on Thanksgiving Day.

According to Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson’s Facebook page, dispatchers received a call from a boy named Billy. Authorities said he didn’t have an emergency; instead he wanted to invite all of the deputies and staff members to Thanksgiving dinner with his family.

“With all the bad calls we take on a daily basis this one was a welcomed happy call that made all of us smile,” said Lead Communications Officer Monica Webster.

Deputies Damon Byrd and Aaron Ethridge made a special trip out to the young boy’s home to met him, give him a Sheriff’s badge and even let him sit in their patrol cars.

“While we do not encourage this use of 9111, we are so honored at the invitation. Thank you Billy for making all of our days here at WCSO.”
