(Minneapolis, MN) Best Buy is telling its employees there will be no more working from home.

It is ending its flexible work program.

Just last week, Yahoo’s CEO ended her employees’ telecommuting program, and for the same reason, Best Buy says it needs everyone in the office to improve business.

But Best Buy says some of its 4,000 non-store workers in its former work-from-home program may still get to telecommute or set flexible schedules, but they won’t be able to make those decisions without a manager.

Best Buy issued this comment: “We of course believe in employee flexibility and are simply just looking for it to come in the context of a conversation between that employee and their manager.  It used to be a right about which a manager had no say, now it’s that conversation.”
