BRUSSELS —   The city of Brussels has been placed on the highest terror alert possible, saying there is a “serious and imminent threat that requires taking specific security measures as well as specific recommendations for the population,” reported CNN.

Citizens were urged not to gather in large groups and comply with any and all security checks.

This comes several days after law enforcement began conducting raids in Belgium after the Paris attacks.

On Thursday, the New York Daily News reported police conducted numerous raids at homes across the city.

They were reportedly looking for those connected to a suicide bomber who died during the Paris attacks.

The government is set to make a statement on the matter to its citizens Saturday.
