MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police say a deceased woman was driven to the East Raines police station Wednesday afternoon after being shot by her boyfriend.

The 34-year old woman did not survive her injuries.

Police have not said where the shooting happened but said 39-year-old Jonathan Turner was charged with her murder.

According to court documents, Turner parked his GMC Yukon at the station, got out and told officers “I just shot my girl.” Authorities found the unresponsive woman in the vehicle and she was pronounced dead.

Authorities said the victim was shot four times and the shell casings were found in the vehicle.

Court documents show Turner has been charged with murder before. Seven years ago, he was charged with a shooting that claimed the life of an unborn child and left a pregnant woman injured.

He was also sentenced to eight years in prison for rape.

Police have not said what led up to the shooting and have not identified the victim.

MPD originally reported that the shooting scene was at the station. They later clarified that the victim had been brought to the station.
