MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three people were killed and several others injured following a shooting at a South Memphis apartment complex Monday night.

Police responded to the Cane Creek Apartments off Ragan Street around 9 p.m.

Authorities said five people were shot on the scene. A 37-year-old man died on the scene and two other males - Calitri Boone and Jessie Williams - died of their injuries at the Regional Medical Center.

Two females - 18 and 37- were transported, but both are expected to be okay.

Police said two groups were inside the apartment complex when an argument escalated Monday night. That's when a man came outside and opened fire.

Neighbors told WREG they heard 40 to 50 shots, and what sounded like an exchange of gunfire.

The victims and suspect appear to have known each other and several people were armed during the incident, police said.

Police urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
