MARKED TREE, Ark. — An Arkansas teacher has been arrested for sexual assault.

Arkansas State Police said they started investigating after at least one teenage boy made allegations of having a “sexual liaison” with her.

Parents told WREG there were other students as well, possibly as many as three or four.

Police identified the woman as Jessie Goline, 25, a Marked Tree High School teacher. The encounters allegedly took place at her home in Jonesboro last semester.

These sexual assault charges come months after police began investigating her. In May, Marked Tree High administrators placed her on leave.

Parents say she was still gone when school started last month, but it’s not clear if she’s still on leave or if she was ultimately fired.

Most parents we spoke to had good things to say about the married teacher but didn’t feel comfortable saying them on camera.

Some allege Goline was the victim of blackmail, but we couldn’t reach the prosecutor handling the case to confirm that.
