Airline delays worst since 2008

(Washington, D.C.) The airlines are blaming bad weather for an increase in delays during peak travel season.

The Transportation Department says the nation’s biggest airlines arrived on time about 78% of the time in August.

The first six months of the year saw the worst delays since 2008.
