(Memphis) It was just after 7:15pm when an 18-wheeler made a wide right turn onto the on ramp to the old Mississippi River bridge and flipped over.

A spokesman for the Memphis Fire Department said the truck was carrying as much as 500 gallons of a Cobalt Nitric acid solution.

Liquid could be seen escaping from the truck which was on its side.

The fire department spokesman said none of the solution leaked into the city sewage system.

There’s no word on what may have spilled into the ground.

No one was hurt.

Police blocked off traffic on Interstate 55 on both sides of the river while a cleanup crew picked up the mess.

The accident caused a large backup on Interstate 55 Northbound for a number of hours.
