JONESBORO, Ark. — A third man has been arrested for kidnapping a Jonesboro Dollar Tree manager who was found dead soon after.

The incident happened Sept. 25. Police arrested the first two suspects, Byron Ford and Dawaun Logan in late November. They are charged with kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

According to police, assistant manager Loretta Pixler and several other employees were leaving the store for the evening when they were approached by a man demanding money.

Pixler was forced to drive away in her vehicle.

The 2004 Hyundai Accent was later involved in an accident near I-555 near they Payneway exit and ended up in a ditch.

Pixler was discovered dead at the scene.

Police used cell tower site information to match the suspects to the crime.

The third suspect, Rodney Watkins, 21, had been arrested Nov. 11 for an unrelated charge and told police he went with Ford and Logan to commit the robbery.

He said Ford drove his car to follow Pixler in her car while Logan was in Pixler’s car, forcing her to drive. Watkins said Logan let Pixler out of her car without hurting her then drove the car into the ditch.

Watkins said he was in Ford’s car and communicated with Logan while this was happening.
