GREENVILLE, Miss. — The two toddlers who were tragically killed after their home was engulfed in flames overnight have been identified.
Firefighters responded to the house shortly after midnight Wednesday, but Damiya and Yazzuiqe Turner were already dead in a rear bedroom of the home when they were found.
Four other children — ages 14,12, 8 and 4– were also inside the home at the time of the blaze but were able to escape before firefighters arrived.
No adults were home at the time of the fire, authorities said.
The parents arrived on the scene and were taken to the police station for interviews.
Fire investigators said no gas or electricity was on in the house and candles were placed throughout.
However, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
