MILLINGTON, Tenn. —  As storms rolled through the area on Monday, some in Millington might have felt shaking of a different kind.

Just after 8 a.m. local time, a magnitude 2.6 earthquake shook those near Meeman- Shelby Forest State Park.

The University of Memphis Center for Earthquake Research and Information reported the quake had a depth of 4.5 Km, or 2.8 miles.

A 2.6 is hard to feel as most people can’t feel anything less than a 4.0.

It’s just a reminder the Mid-South sits on a major fault line.
