Eric Lipford is the dayside executive producer at WREG News Channel 3. He supervises the team of producers that bring you news at Noon, 4PM, 4:30PM, 5PM, 6PM and 10PM every day.

Eric joined WREG in January 2009 as a producer of News Channel 3’s weekend evening newscasts. Two years later, he moved to the overnight shift to produce News Channel 3 Daybreak. He was promoted to morning executive producer in 2017 and moved to the dayside shift in early 2019.

Eric is a Mid-South native, born in Jackson, TN and raised in Hardeman County, TN. He graduated from Middleton High School then went to Austin Peay State University, majoring in mass communication.

Eric’s television career began in 2002 at WKAG in Hopkinsville, KY – where he did just about every job possible – ranging from audio operator and director to producer and Clarksville Bureau Chief.

In 2003, he moved back to West Tennessee, spending just over 2 years at WBBJ-TV in Jackson. For much of that time, he was the producer and director of the popular “Good Morning West Tennessee” program.

In late 2005, Eric moved north to the Land of Lincoln to become the morning producer at WICS-TV in Springfield, IL. He spent two years on the morning shift then produced the 11AM and 5PM newscasts for about 6 months before joining WREG.
