Marybeth Conley came to News Channel 3 in 1985 as the station’s – and the city’s – first consumer investigator/advocate with her feature ‘Consumer Watch!’
After several years of exposing fraud and corruption, Marybeth added anchoring to her duties on the morning, noon and 10 pm newscasts.
Parenthood intervened, and with three young sons, she moved to Daybreak so that she could be a full-time mom and continue her career at News Channel 3.
Marybeth teamed up with long time friend and colleague, Alex Coleman, in 2002 to launch News Channel 3’s Live @ 9 from Peabody Place. It’s the show to watch if you want to learn what’s going on in Memphis and the Mid-South – from music to arts to food to politics.
Marybeth won an Emmy for a documentary called “Special Kids, Special Families.” She is currently developing a non-profit project to help Mid-Southerners returning to the community from prison obtain safe and affordable housing.
In 2004, Marybeth was blessed with the addition of their beautiful daughter, Abigail Hope. Marybeth hobbies include gardening, reading, home renovation and traveling.
