Grass fire forces closure of Lamar Avenue ramp to I-240E

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fire crews were forced to shutdown a ramp leading onto I-240 eastbound on Friday due to a fire.

WREG’s Corie Ventura reported the ramp from Lamar Avenue to I-240 was blocked by first responders around 6:15 a.m. due to a grass fire.

It’s unclear how the fire started.

The fire was out and the ramp back open by 7 a.m.
