Shooting at airport area bar leaves two people injured

MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  Two people were rushed to the hospital following a shooting inside an airport area club.

It happened around midnight at Big League Sports Bar and Grill on Lamar Avenue.

According to police, the female victim touched a man inside the club while on the dance floor. The man left the establishment and told his girlfriend what happened, leading to a fight between the two ladies.

The female victim’s brother saw what was happening and punched the girlfriend.

All parties involved in the fight were removed from the club by security, but they didn’t stay outside for long, police said. A subsequent fight in the parking lot made its way back inside the club and that’s when shots were fired by an unknown man.

The female victim was shot in the leg and transported to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. Another shooting victim – a male- arrived at St. Francis Hospital on his own and was airlift to the R.M.C. as well.

The suspect has not been captured. If you know anything, call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
