MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 28-year-old father of seven named Issacca Powell was killed in a deadly double shooting in Whitehaven.

Family members of the man found dead weren't saying a lot. But neighbors say they heard a commotion and then gun shots before police made the scene at Favell Drive just before 2:30 a.m. Monday.

They say the man was shot and killed and a woman was critically wounded. She was rushed to the Regional Medical Center.

Police have not identified the man. But family members say the victim is Powell.

Relatives told us that Powell's older brother had also been at the house, but they had no idea where he was.

Around 7 a.m. the brother showed up at the house and tried to get in. Officers patted him down, handcuffed him and put him in the back of a squad car.

Police also towed away three vehicles and were seen taking a number of items out of the home.

People in the neighborhood were stunned officers were there at all.

"It's really quiet around here. It's never really like this," a neighbor said.

Police aren't saying why the brother was taken into custody. But they are asking anyone who knows anything to call Crime Stoppers at (901)-528-CASH.

So far, police haven't released any suspect information.
