MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fire crews battled a blaze Thursday night at a house in North Memphis, and the family inside had help from a civilian.

The home in the 600 block of North Dunlap, north of Jackson, was engulfed in flames by about 8 p.m.

Lt. Wayne Cooke with Memphis Fire Department said a family was at home inside the house when the fire started. One of those people was a disabled female.

A civilian helped that person out of the house, Cooke said.

No one was injured, he said.

The home was extensively damaged. Cooke said a cause had not been determined.
