Fire burns through house in Countrywood

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A fire tore through a house in the Countrywood neighborhood in Cordova on Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 3 p.m. on Cherry Spring Drive. No injuries were reported.

Memphis Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental. Electrical wiring malfunctioned in the garage/storage area.

Total damage is estimated at $80,000 structure and $50,000 contents. Red Cross provided assistance for three adults and two children.
