Memphis businessman, philanthropist Mike Rose dies

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A beloved Memphian, Mike Rose, has died.

Rose was a hotel executive who was known for his generosity in giving back to the community, including being a big supporter of University of Memphis athletics.

The soccer complex on Forest Hill Irene Road is named after him.

The UofM issued a statement offering its condolences to his family.
