ARLINGTON, Tenn. -- Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered in a wooded area in Arlington.

Around 1 p.m., a person was helping their neighbor find their dog behind the Hidden Meadows subdivision when the remains were discovered.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office said it is too early to tell if foul play was involved. There were no apparent wounds to the body, but WREG's Shay Arthur was told the man was found face down in some water.

The medical examiner will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

WREG's Shay Arthur is working on this developing story.
