First responders clean up chemical spill at Winchester, Pidgeon Roost
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A leaking 18-wheeler caused a mess in Southeast Memphis on Friday.
In all happened near the intersection of Winchester and Pidgeon Roost Road.
The Fire Department told WREG about 300 gallons of hydrogen peroxide spilled into the roadways.
While not considered a danger to the public, the chemical caused a mess and even forced the authorities to decontaminate the driver before leaving the scene.
The leak has been contained and emergency management and the Coast Guard are taking care of the cleanup.
