SOUTH BEND, Ind. — With his teammates close by and hundreds of fans looking on, Christmas came early for Notre Dame basketball player Matt Farrell.
After his team’s win over Colgate Monday night, Farrell was instructed to watch a video from his brother who had been deployed to Afghanistan, reported WGN.
“For us, home is wherever we’re together – and I look forward to being home with you soon,” said Bo Farrell in the video message to Matt. “Really, really soon.”
Fifteen seconds later, Bo walked out of the tunnel onto the basketball court and gave his brother a hug.
It was a tearful reunion that was captured and shared with the entire Fighting Irish family via social media.
