Police use K-9 to take down juvenile who shot at them

MARIANA, Arkan.– Officers were engaged in a foot chase with an unnamed male juvenile in the area of MLK and Montgomery Street on December 19,  2016.

During the pursuit, the juvenile retrieved a handgun from his waist and fired multiple shots at the officers. was then utilized to locate and apprehend the subject without further incident.

A police K-9 was then utilized to locate and apprehend the subject without further incident.

Police recovered a 9mm handgun and over four ounces of marijuana.

It was later determined that the firearm had been stolen.
The juvenile was charged with the following: Attempted Capital Murder, Aggravated Assault, Fleeing, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Theft of a Firearm.
