MIDDLE TENNESSEE — Christmas came early for one waitress in Middle Tennessee thanks to some high school students.

For four years, John Willis’s senior finance class at Mt. Juliet Christian Academy has been meeting at their local Steak N Shake to have study breakfasts and that’s how they got to know Miss Martha.

While studying about giving, the students decided to give to her.

Over the course of a couple of months, they collected more than $1,500.

They recently surprised her with the gift and said they hoped it showed their appreciation for her kindness.

With tears in her eyes, Miss Martha accepted the gift.

“Thank you so much. I’m speechless for the first time in my life,” she said.

The students also raised some money for the cook and the drive through operator.
