MPD officer injured in hit & run crash

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking for a hit & run driver who was involved in a crash with a MPD police cruiser in Hickory Hill.

The crash happened on Hickory Hill Road near Plum Valley Drive around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the officer’s cruiser was struck by an SUV and the driver kept going.

The officer wasn’t seriously injured but was taken to the Regional Medical Center as a precaution.

The police cruiser sustained minor damage in the crash — including the rear bumper, which was torn off.

So far, police haven’t released a description of the suspect’s vehicle — other than it was an SUV.
