Argument over football game led to Shelby County deadly shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Shelby County deputies are investigating the county's 16th homicide of 2016.

Deputies say a man was shot and killed around 9:30 p.m. Monday at a house on Lake Valley Drive near Crumpler Road in southeast Shelby County.

According to Earle Farrell, SCSO spokesperson, the shooting stemmed from a fight that broke out while a group of men were watching a football game on TV.

Michael Dorsey, 35, is charged with the murder.

Family members identified the victim as William Terell Powell.
