Five injured in two overnight shootings

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Five people are recovering and police are looking for suspects following two overnight shootings.

The first shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday at Winchester Rd. & Clarke Rd. in Hickory Hill.

Police say four people were taken to the hospital after being shot while riding in a car in that area.

Two of the victims are in critical condition.

The other shooting happened less than an hour later at Bammel Ave. & Breedlove St. in North Memphis.

Police say one person was shot there and taken to the Regional Medical Center.

There’s no word yet on how that victim is doing.

So far, police haven’t released a description of the suspects in either case.
