MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- New information about one of the suspects involved in a barricade situation Monday afternoon.

WREG did some digging and discovered Dustin Russell has a long criminal history.

Russell has been arrested at least 20 times over the last 11 years on charges ranging from aggravated assault and theft to drug possession and DUI.

This time, Russell, along with his girlfriend Joani Howell, was accused of stealing trailers and ATVs from a home in Bartlett.

The victim, who didn't want to be identified, said the thieves made off with a work trailer. When he went after them, they started firing at him.

"I was still wanting the trailer. I was so focused on getting the trailer that it took me a few seconds to go on that it didn't hit me the truck or someone else could've been hit. There was a lot of traffic, it wasn't worth it, so I backed off," he told WREG.

On Monday, MPD officers located the pair on Getwell Road and pursued them to Kerrville Rosemakr Road and Miller Road where authorities believe they ran out of gas.

They then barricaded themselves inside the car.

Authorities were able to take them into custody peacefully.
