MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are investigating two store robberies that happened within hours of each other on the same street.

Late Monday evening, officers responded to the Walgreen’s store in the 8100 block of Walnut Grove after two men robbed the place.

One of the victims said they became suspicious after one of the suspects walked through the front door wearing sunglasses. Several seconds later, the second suspect followed with a red bandana pulled up over his face.

That’s when the first suspect pulled a gun and demanded all of the cash from the registers.

Both workers opened the drawers and told them to take what they wanted.

Several hours later, officers were called to another store just down the street in the 9000 block of Walnut Grove.

The two suspects reportedly broke the drive-thru glass window of The Walnut Grove Market, grabbed several pill bottles each and hopped back outside before officers arrived.

Authorities were only able to give a vague description of the suspects.
