MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was killed Saturday in Frayser.

Family members identified him as Rico Jones, a father of three children.

The shooting happened in the 2500 block of Smith Ridge Road.

The victim died of a gunshot wound, police said.

"I was shocked. He not no bad person from what I saw," family friend Robin Boyd said.

"I'm tired. I'm tired of comforting my kids for things like this right here. It's not right. It's not fair," said Amerle Clark, another family friend.

Jones went to Trezevant and was an aspiring rapper. Friends said he is the second child his mom has lost to gun violence.

The suspect is at large, and police are investigating.
